Congratulations Faggiano Family

Just a short blog entry to congratulate Blaise and Alison Faggiano on the adoption of their new baby boy! May your life be filled iwth the happiness that children can bring. We welcome the new addition to the Cardinal Football Family!

An article from the Rochester Democratic Chronicle:
No tailgate party for Fisher's Faggiano
Cardinals assistant leaves '130 kids' to rejoin his new son
Craig Kanalley- Staff writer

(December 10, 2006) — St. John Fisher College players, fans and families gathered for a tailgate party after Saturday's game in the Mount Union Stadium parking lot. There was one notable absence.
Defensive coordinator Blaise Faggiano was on his way back to Rochester to see his newly adopted son, 7-month-old James Antonio Faggiano."Usually I'm an avid tailgater," Faggiano said. "I just wanted to get back to see James as soon as I could."
Faggiano returned to Rochester from Guatemala — where his son is from — late Friday, and made the trip to Ohio overnight."The timing of the trip was wonderful," he said. "We left Guatemala City at 2:30, we left Atlanta at 9, and we got to Rochester around 11 or 11:30 and by 1:30 I had three Fisher alumni pick me up and drive me out here.
"We got to Alliance around 6:30. I slept the whole way, got the rest, got to sleep in the hotel a little bit. Then I got to do the morning prayer, breakfast at 8:30, and got to coach at the game today."
Senior defensive lineman Greg Pyszczynski said he admired Faggiano's dedication to the team."He really busted his butt to get down here," Pyszczynski said.
"I know he took his laptop with him (to Guatemala), which has all the game film and the breakdown on it. He still led us even though he was over there."
Faggiano said it was, however, difficult leaving his wife, Alison, and new son behind."My wife didn't make the trip. That was the hardest part," he said.
He also missed the chance to be with his son on his first night in his new home."I wasn't able to be there, which was hard, but I had to go with the other 130 kids of mine," he said.

What a Great Ride!

Our kids played their hearts out! Once a Cardinal...always a Cardinal!
Words just don't seem to be coming to me as easy with this blog entry. To say that we have met a great group of parents, friends, coaches and players as part of the Fisher Football Family is a total understatement. Just the little things...like...half of Mount Union stadium filled with Cardinal fans; the 54 Fisher Fan rooms at the Comfort Inn; the JV players taking time out of finals week to support their varsity players; three bus loads of students thanks in part to the many wonderful college groups that donated financially so the "family" could be all together supporting our great team; the unbelievable effort that Coach Fagg put in this past week (Good Luck Blaise and Alison), especially to the friends and past coach that brought him through the night to continue his dream on the field with his special family of coaches and players; to Loretta, Bob, Jim and Karen- the tailgates, special chocolates, travel goody bags, special print on the Gatorade bottles, all the pictures, the Webshots; Pam's window decals; the wonderful, supportive parents of our players and our fans....you made Fisher Football what it is today...A CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM! Thank you for ALL that you've done!

Let me leave you with this thought-
Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow. Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Just walk beside me and be my friend forever. ~unknown

We'll keep you posted on the details of the Football Banquet on January 13th.
