Looking ahead to Friday and Saturday, heavy flooding rain will shift from Carolinas to parts of the Middle Atlantic and Northeast (including portions of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Upstate New York) as remnants of Ernesto work northward and interact with a stationary boundary draped across the region. This heavy rainfall will be in tandem with the busy travels of the Labor Day holiday. Be ready to deal with slow air travel and surface travel in the region.
