SJFC vs. Morrisville Video

SJFC Scrimmage vs. Morrisville

THANK YOU Parents AND Kings College Directions

Parents: Words just can't explain how AWESOME you were in support of our tailgate for the Morrisville scrimmage. From planning, setting up, manning the tables, cooking, serving and cleaning up, your support exhibited today is what Fisher Football is all about. We fed more than 200 players, coaches, parents and family members without skipping a beat. It was great to see each of you, as well as all of our players who have worked hard during this pre-season. YOU rock! Fisher parents rock!

For those parents who saw the tailgate party for the first time, and did not volunteer to bring anything or donate money, we hope you will join us in the future.

VARSITY PARENTS: The Kings College tailgate information will be emailed to you early next week with the final list sent to you on Thursday evening. Remember, if you are travelling a group of parents will be staying at the Comfort Inn and Suites right off Route 81 at the end of the exit. Not sure of there are still rooms left in the block but I would make the call and tell them you are with the SJFC Football Booster Block to get the group rate.

DIRECTIONS: to Kings College Football Stadium- From I-81:
Take exit 168, Highland Park Boulevard. Be sure to check out the First Union Arena and Convention Center which you will see to your right as you exit I-81. . At the end of the ramp, turn left. Betzler Fields will be on your left.

JV PARENTS: We are still looking for a committee to email the JV parents (Sarah will provide you the information she has) to set-up the year's tailgates. The Varsity parents (Karen, Pam, Sheila and Sarah) will help you get started. If you are willing to be this committee, please email the McQueens at the address on the parent information form.

In closing....let us say THANK YOU to all who supported the tailgate at today's scrimmage. Just for your information, we will have generic SJFC Football window decals for sale at each game(until sold out). Also, for those of you who did not order any Cardinal Booster items, we will be coming out with a list shortly.

TAILGATE TIME CHANGE--IMPORTANT

Received an email from Coach Vos stating that the scrimmage on Saturday has been moved to 12:00 noon. If you are planning on attending and have not signed up for the tailgate, but would like to, we are in need of salads (pasta, macaroni, etc.). If you can bring one, please email us at: bsrmcqueen@aol.com.

Tailgate Confusion---JV vs. Varsity Tailgate Items

Parents: We've received a few questions as to whether JV parents have to bring food for the Varsity games. The answer is NO..UNLESS your son is dressing for the Varsity game. However, since the scrimmage this week is for both teams, we are asking that both JV and Varsity parents bring the items that they signed up for.

As for the JV tailgates, we are still looking for a "committee" to chair these for the year. It works so much better if a group of JV parents get together and work on this project. The parents can use the grill that is used for the Varsity games, as well as the supplies (Utensils)that were left over from last year's JV tailgates. If you are interested in serving on the JV committee, please stop by our Fisher Football Parents Booster Table at the scrimmage this weekend. Either Karen, Pam, Sheila or Sarah can help you with this.

Also, today Sarah and I had the opportunity to take pictures at Camp Good Days and Special Times while the players and coaches were visiting. Once again, this act exhibited the outstanding character that is embedded into the Cardinal Football Program. As Coach Mervis spoke to the players and coaches, you could hear a pin drop....and as we gazed around the room, we observed a tear in the eyes of many of the players and coaches. The meaning of the Courage Bowl was artistically protrayed through words by Coach Mervis.

Once these pictures are download, Sarah will load these into her Webshots and available for all to view. Once we get them into Webshots we will share the address through the email and on the blog.

A Letter to All Cardinal Football Parents and Fans

Welcome Parents to Fisher Football;

WOW!! The responses have begun to come in for your support of the Tailgate Events for our Players and Coaches. Please check your email if you haven’t already, and get your replies in as soon as possible. Remember we are feeding about 200 players and coaches after our scrimmage with Morrisville on the 25th. Scrimmage time has not been set yet. Check for future emails or the SJFC Cardinal Football Booster Blog (http://sjfccardinalfootballboosterclub.blogspot.com). We hope that you jump on board and become an “official” Fisher Cardinal Tailgater!

In preparing for a home game tailgate event, there will be a categorized list that we have asked you to sign-up for in a previous email. If you didn’t get it - we will have a sign-up at the inter squad and Morrisville scrimmages. On that chart, simply sign for the item that you will bring for every home game. Occasionally, lack of time, or a busy schedule, dictates that you simply are not able to prepare/purchase a dish for the tailgate. Therefore, if you are unable to bring a dish to pass, but will be attending the tailgate, we simply ask that you kindly place a donation of your choice in the Donation Fisher Football (conveniently located by the tailgate tables). ALL donations collected will be added to the “tailgate account” allowing us to cover the cost of any needed items. It is important to keep in mind that after the games we are feeding the football and coaching staff as well…. so think plenty when you plan so we can satisfy their big appetites. Parents can eat after the players and coaches. If need be, we will adjust the amounts after our first tailgate (the 25th).

Away game tailgating events have been attended by large numbers of folks making the trip to where the team is playing to show their support. At these tailgates parents like to get together before the game to munch on a dish that they brought. At all away games we supply the players and coaching staff with desserts, healthy snacks and drinks (Gatorade, water). Please check the SJFC Cardinal Football Booster Blog (http://sjfccardinalfootballboosterclub.blogspot.com), or refer to the email on what foods we need. If you sign up for desserts, drinks and healthy snacks, you just bring them to the away games as well. For those of you signing up for hot dogs and rolls we will not need them for away games. Feel free to bring desserts, beverages or healthy snacks for the team.

We know that no one wants to venture into the idea of cash donations it is, unfortunately, a necessary fund for the number of players we will have on both the JV and Varsity teams. In order to maintain a monetary safety net for items that we may run short of, or have no one signing up for, we are asking that each family make a ONE TIME $5.00 cash donation at the first scrimmage (8/25/07) or first away (9/1/07) or home game (9/15/07), whichever one you attend first. This would be in addition to your weekly food or beverage donation. This donation will be collected at the table in the Tailgate Area by Sheila Galletto, Varsity Tailgate Treasurer. Once a JV tailgate parent committee is organized, Sheila will give them their $5.00/family tailgate fund. Home game tailgates are held in the Fishbowl. We will have a list with all the parent information on it (see attached), we will check off your name upon donation. We also ask that you check the parent information for accuracy at this time.

If you are unable to make your donation at the scrimmage or first game, we will have the donation box available at the next tailgate event. At season end, any leftover money from the tailgate event will be given to Camp Good Days and Special Times. We will keep you all posted on the amount collected and will save all receipts of purchases made for tailgating. We believe that it is very important that all members of the Fisher cardinal Football Family are kept informed.

IMPORTANT: We are still looking for parents to chair the tailgates for the JV team. We have one parent interested but she is looking for help and expertise from sophomore and freshmen parents. In order to make sure we have your correct email and contact information, please check the attachment if you haven’t already and send back any changes that you may have.

In closing, we want to say THANK YOU to all of the wonderful Fisher Football families in advance for their continued support. As you will see from the names below, three of us will have graduating seniors this year. If you would like to work with us and learn the ropes for the future, please let us know via email or at the games. Without continued support, this type of an event may not happen in the future.

This year we are hoping to sell SJFC Football window decals, car flags, beads, player pins, etc. Look for these at our Tailgates. Also, don’t forget, Fisher Football is noted for its “Loud Crowd and Cow Bells!” Please bring your cow bells to all of the home and away games. We want to have our players “hear and see” our support while they are on the field. It should be another great football season!

As we stated on Opening Day, your sons will be playing for one of the most respected programs and coaching staffs in the nation! The friendships and memories that are created here becomes the glue that holds us together---and is the reason we are known as the “Fisher Football FAMILY.” We look forward to working and enjoying each and every one of you!

GO CARDINALS!

Tailgate Needs/Kings College

Dear Cardinal Football Family:
We are in the process of trying to fill the shoes of Loretta (tough to do)
and plan the tailgates for the players and coaches this year. Also, we are
trying to develop a Parent Information Contact Form so that we can use when we travel and will include cell phone numbers as well as emails. WE WILL HAVE THIS FORM AT THE INTER-SQUAD AND MORRISVILLE SCRIMMAGE.
As with past years... we will email a list of foods needed for the upcoming tailgate. This list (created in Microsoft Word) is attached. If you would like to save on responding to emails, you can sign up and tell us that you
will bring the same item every week.

To add your name to the list: JUST SEND US BACK A COMMENT ON WHAT YOU WILL BRING FOR THE YEAR.

This form is VERY IMPORTANT as it will let us know what foods or beverages
we will be short for at the games. We have attached a list of what is needed
for the MORRISVILLE SCRIMMAGE on August 25th. We will be feeding about 225
players and coaches in the End Zone (hopefully under the tent). Parents and
family members may participate in the tailgate after the team is fed.
If you have a portable table we could use it!

We have booked 10 rooms at the Comfort Inn, Wilkes Barre, PA for August 31st
for the Kings College game. We were only able to obtain 10 rooms at an
excellent price. When you call, please mention the SJFC Football Booster block to
receive the special price. They will only save these rooms until AUGUST 16th.
The phone number there is: 570-823-0500.

JV Parents: We are looking for someone to take the helm for the JV tailgates
this year. If you are interested, please contact Karen Kania at: (C):
716-474-6891 or (H) 585-393-3765. The players and coaches REALLY appreciated the
efforts in the past and I know would do so this year.

For up-to-date information on SJFC Football Boosters - check out the blog at:
http://sjfccardinalfootballboosterclub.blogspot.com

If you have ANY questions, please feel free to contact us at the numbers
listed: (email addresses on Parent Information Sheet)
Jim and Karen Kania: (C) 716-474-6891 (H) 585-393-3765

Brian and Sarah McQueen: (C)-Sarah 315-723-2343 (C) Brian 315-368-8479 (H)
315-736-7479
Our players and coaches will appreciate our efforts as the tailgates is
something that they really look forward to after the games.
Go Cards!!!

Scrimmage Tailgate vs. Morrisville

Welcome Parents:

YES...Cardinal Football is upon us once again. As a football family, we are recahing out to ALL of you to help us provide food and drink for all of the tailgates, incluidng the one coming up on August 26th- the Scrimmage vs. Morrisville. Due to the miles that the team has to travel, we will be feeding the Morrisville and our team after the scrimmage.

This year we are trying to have parents bring the SAME food or drink for each game. In the next day or so, you will be receiving an email with the list of food and drink needs. We started this at the camp sign-in this past Saturday but know we missed a great deal of you. PLEASE review the email, update the information on the Parent Information Sheet and Tailgate Food/Drink Sign-up, and email that back to us at bsrmcqueen@aol.com. You can update the Tailgate Form and the Parent Form right on the form as it was created in Microsoft Word and send it back to us. We will need that information back ASAP. WE WILL NEED ALL FOOD/DRINKS DONATIONS THAT YOU SIGNED UP FOR...DOUBLED FOR THE SCRIMMAGE....Remember we are feeding TWO teams of about 200 players.

The success of our tailgates for the players and coaches depends on all of us chipping in. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact: Jim and Karen Kania, Doug and Pam Martin and Brian and Sarah McQueen. There numbers and emails will be on the Parent Form emailed to you.
