Tailgate Information: Hartwick

Sarah will be emailing the list out early this evening. The responses this week have been "thin." We are waiting to see if we get more in today. We are in need of fruit (Apples, Oranges-Cut, etc.).

Also, I booked 15 rooms in Springfield, MA at the Hilton Garden Inn, 2-miles from the college for $119.00. The rooms are blocked under the SJFC Football parent Boosters. The number is: 413-886-8000. The hotel informed me that there are many events going on that weekend in the area and rooms are limited. I will have flyers at the Tailgate this weekend...don't forget....it's the Best of the Best Tailgate Event!!!!! Start the grills, warmers and crockpots...you're going to Hartwick country!!!!

HELP!!! HELP!!!

We are REALLY short and have not received many responses for this weeks tailgate. We are sure its because you are really busy this week and that is understandable!! If you get a chnace, please email your tailgate information back to Sarah as soon as possible. She needs it by around 5:00pm tomorrow.

Hartwick Tailgate Location/Event

Cardinal Football Fans: The word is out...we will tailgate in the Parking Lot just past the PE building. I attached the map for you to view the location. In fact, I circled it in RED. I believe the location is called "Dr. Kramer's/Mirantos Corner" but we haven't confirmed that as of yet!! LOL!! We have named this pre-game tailgate: The BEST of the BEST! We hope ALL of our football parents can join us for this event. We are asking that you bring your BEST tailgate items and be ready to share it with all of us...Something new...BUT TRYING TO MAKE SURE WE ALL CONTINUE TO GROW AS A FAMILY OF CARDINAL FOOTBALL FANS!!!!! So fire up those grills and stoves and get ready to show our support of the coaches and players from SJFC.

If you can't fund us...look for the Blue Canopies and Banner!

We will also use this location for the team after the game! Sarah is compiling the list and will have it out tomorrow evening.

HUGE...Ithaca Bomber Game...Tailgate Info

I spoke with Coach Vos today regarding the Parent Tailgate as well as the Player and Coaches Tailgate after the game this Saturday. Coach contacted the Ithaca College AD and received approval for us to Tailgate in Parking Lot W as requested. The AD suggested that we get there early to hold the spots. Dr. "Tailgate Himself" Keith Miranto informed me the festivities will begin at 10:30am. So when you get there...look for the Kramer Tailgate "BLUE" Pop-up tent and I'm sure you'll find the "pre-game meeting." I've included a map of the college (Thanks Jim) for you to view the location. I hope someone saves me a seat as I will be coming in from Albany for the game and should get there around 1:00pm...just in time for kickoff!!!! GO CARDS...Beat the BOMBERS!!!!!!!!

Courage Bowl---Saturday (Tailgate Information)

Can you believe the Courage Bowl is Saturday? This has to be an exciting time for the children and staff of Camp Good Days as well as the players and coaches from both teams.

Tickets go on sale at 5:00pm. There will be a large crowd for this one. We've been contacted by some parents that say they will begin their pre-game tailgate in the Park-n-Ride parking area. I believe the tme will be around 4:00pm.

The team tailgate will behind the Coaches Office (SLC) after the game. Just a reminder, the Tailgate list will be mailed out this evening. We are collecting a minimum of $10.00 per family yo offset the cost of the sheet pizzas. We began this last week at the Buffaol game. If you haven't donated, we hope you will. Please give your donation to Karen Kania, Pam Martin, Sheila Galletto or Jim Kramer. We plan on purchasing 30-33 sheet pizzas!!!.

If you are a JV parent and want to remain on the Varsity tailgate email list, please see Sarah McQueen before or after the game.

Once again the JV parents did an excellent job on Sunday. THANK YOU for your team effort!

PLEASE BRING YOUR NOISE MAKERS (COW BELLS) TO THE GAME...WE NEED TO SHOW U OF R WHO WE ARE!

Courage Bowl-What's it all About?

PLEASE READ: Courage Bowl ONLY a FEW days Away!!!!
Buy your tickets early as this event sells out!! Get there early!!!!!!

Taken from camp Good Days website:

For one night, thanks to the coaches at the University of Rochester, and my fellow coaches at St. John Fisher College, six children battling cancer will have the chance to truly be a part of a college football team, during Courage Bowl III. Courage Bowl III, the annual football game between the St. John Fisher College Cardinals and the University of Rochester Yellowjackets, dedicated to the children of Camp Good Days and Special Times, will be played on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 7:00 PM at Growney Stadium on the St. John Fisher College campus. Most of us take our good health for granted and have the chance to follow through on many of our dreams, such as playing football, yet, this population of children battling cancer does not have the luxury of dreams like that. Children with cancer are generally not able to participate in organized football, due to their illness and as a result of their treatments, so for them to have the opportunity to be a real part of a college football team is so extraordinary and truly an once-in-a-lifetime experience that they will remember for all of their life. These six Honorary Coaches, three with each team, will attend a practice session with their team; will meet their team for the pre-game meal; will be in the locker room with their team; will lead their teams onto the field; will be at midfield for the coin toss; and will “coach” from the sidelines with their fellow coaches. Following the game, the names of all six Honorary Coaches will be inscribed on the Teddi Trophy, named for my daughter, Teddi. In addition this year, two girls battling cancer will have the opportunity to be Honorary Cheerleaders with each team’s Cheerleading Squads. The girls will also attend a practice with their squad; meet their squad pre-game to get ready; and spend the game on the sidelines with their fellow cheerleaders. Because the sidelines of a college football game can be a bit dangerous, we are only able to select six Honorary Coaches, however, for the other campers from Camp Good Days dealing with cancer there will be a special Camp Good Days’ Courage Bowl Tailgate Party, sponsored and hosted by Tompkins Insurance Agencies, AM&M Financial Services, and the Bank of Castile. The Courage Bowl Tailgate Party will take place at the Alumni Terrace at St. John Fisher College and includes dinner, games and activities, and special seating for the game. The Inaugural Courage Bowl was played in September 2005 at Growney Stadium in front of a record-breaking crowd and Courage Bowl II was played in September 2006 at Fauver Stadium on the University of Rochester campus in front of a sell-out crowd. This year we anticipate no different as thousands are expected to come out not only to support their team, but to support the children and families of Camp Good Days. We are also thrilled that the game will be televised live on WROC TV-8, with a re-broadcast on FOX Rochester and will also be carried on WYSL News 1040AM and Hot Talk 1280 AM. All of us at Camp Good Days hope to see you at the game! Courage Bowl…More Than Just A Game!

Varsity and JV tailgates and Courage Bowl Info

First of all congratulations on the JV and Varsity wins this weekend over Buff State this weekend. AND...thanks to ALL of you who participated in the tailgates this past weeked for the coaches, players and parents. You make it all happen. The game pictures are on the webshots so take some time to view them. I will place the video on the blog tomorrow.

The Varsity tailgate items are sent via email this evening. We will be doing pizza for the tailgate after the Courage Bowl. In order to feed all of those participating we will need to order 30-33 full sheet pizzas. We are asking, if you haven't donated at the Buff State game already, for parents whose sons are dressing for the Courage Bowl to chip in a minium of $10.00 to help off-set the cost. Also, we will be asking for drinks, desserts and salads to go with the pizza. If you see Sheila Galletto or Jim Kramer, please give your donation to them next Saturday.

JV tailgates: Thanks to the parents that met with us on Saturday after the Buff State game. We hope all went well after your game. We've been informed that the contact email for the JV tailgates will now be: jvcardinals@embroideryloft.net. This will help us all mainstream the info to one email and therefore JV tailgate information will not have to be emailed back to bsrmcqueen@aol.com. If the JV Parent Tailgate coordinators need anything printed on the blog they can send that to Brian or Sarah.

BIG WEEK: COURAGE BOWL WEEK...let's take some time think of those children less fortunate and stricken with childhood diseases...that's what ths week is all about...Camp Good Days!

We've been informed that there will be a collection in the stands at halftime by the students associated with the Teddi Dance for Love Committee with all proceeds collected going towards the 26th Annual Teddi Dance for Love held in February. Your tax deductible donations would be greatly appreciated. Checks will be accepted and can be made out to: SJFC Teddi Dance. To find out more about the Teddi Dance for Love and how it benefits camp Good Days check out their web page wich can be found on the college's main web page.

SJFC at Kings College 2007

Great Game....Thank You Parents

Hey Fisher Cardinal fans,

Congratulations to our players an coaches on a great win against Kings College this past Saturday. Also, thank you for the great turnout for our after-game tailgate. Unfortunately as parents we were not able to tailgate before the game due to a "local issue" that we were informed about. We are over it now and ready to look at possible pre-game tailgate options at Buffalo State (around 10:30am according to Mr. Miranto!!!).

The away tailgate information will be out shortly. We have alot left over from last game so the list may be trimmed and new items may appear.

Also, in the very near future you will see the photstory from the Kings College game posted on this blog as well. Enjoy it!
THINK MORE COW BELLS!!!!!!
