IMPORTANT- Friday Scrimmage Information!!!!!!

Dear Fisher Football Parents:
We want to clarify some questions that have arisen about Friday's tailgate after the scrimmage with Morrisville. Coach Vosburgh just called and confirmed that the JV's will NOT be scrimmaging on Friday night. JV's will scrimmage in the monring. The JV's will be dressed in uniform and stand on the sideline for the scrimmage. Both Fisher Varsity and JV teams will be eating after the scrimmage at Fisher. The tailgate will take place behind the SLC (Student Life Center)... by Coach Vosburgh's office. We will also be feeding 93+ Morrisville players and coaches. After all the players and coaches eat... parents and family members are welcome to eat.

JV Parents: If you are a JV parent and you signed up to bring something for the Friday Night Tailgate, it won't be needed unless you plan on coming and tailgating after the scrimmage. We thank you SO MUCH for your generosity and apologize for the confusion. If you do not plan to bring the food or beverage you signed up for... please drop us an email (sjfcfootball08@aol.com) by 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Your first game is on Sunday, September 14th. We've had 1-2 parents step forward to assist with the JV tailgate. Some of you stated that you were unsure if your son was on Varsity or JV... so we understand. Once you know the level... and you would like to help organize the tailgates... please contact us via email.

Varsity Parents: For those varsity parents whose sons will be playing on Friday...this means we REALLY NEED your help with food and tailgate items...we had some parents respond already... however their are several gaps on the attached chart. Your generous donations would be greatly appreciated. If you have not responded as to whether you will be bringing an item for the tailgate...PLEASE do so by no later than 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. I am not sending out a list (this time) of who will help with set up... cooking... cleanup. We just ask all parents to chip in and help wherever. After this week I will be "assigning" people (on a rotating basis) to help cook, etc.

Tailgate Reminders: A reminder to those of you bringing beverages... please have them on ice and label your cooler with your name. So many coolers look alike and you don't want yours to go home with someone else.

Morrisville Scrimmage

Well...yes it's time to begin planning for the SJFC vs. Morrisville scrimmage this coming Friday, 7:00pm at EAST ROCHESTER HIGH SCHOOL. We will be tailgating after the scrimmage behind the coaches office. Sarah and I will be there around 4:30pm to begin setting up for the tailgate. We ask that you don't drop off any of your tailgating foods until after the scrimmage. With the soccer tournament going on at the stadium controlling all of our food would be quite difficult.
The returns of our first email on the food and drink request for the scrimmage have been been very slow. We ask that you take a look at the email attachments and send us back what you will be able to bring to the scrimmage for the players. Please keep in mind that the quantities on this week's list are higher because we are feeding both teams as a gesture of "class" from SJFC parents, players and coaches.
We are still looking for parents whose players will be on the JV team to contact us so that we can review what is needed for their tailgates and t0 provide them with their monetary needs for the year.
Once again, we want to thank you for all that you've done, and will continue to do to make this year a great one.

Camp Good Days/Scrimmage Email

The pictures of the Camp Good Days visit this past Tuesday are on the Webshots. This link can be found on the card that Sarah passed out at the Sign-in Day last Saturday. For returning parents...it's the same link as last year!

We've been in the Rochester all week attending a convention and had some time in the evening to drive down to the Camp to see a touch of class from the Cardinal Football team. Having had the chance to see the smiles on the faces of the kids at the camp as they played various games with the players and coaches was worth the trip! Just one more reason why SJFC Cardinal Football program is one of the top D3 programs in the nation.

Also, tomorrow Sarah will be sending out the list of food and equipment needed to feed the players, coaches and fans from SJFC and Morrisville after the scrimmage. Please read the email AND attachment, fill in what you can help bring and send it back to us via the email on the bottom of the email. PLEASE email back by next TUESDAY!

SJFC Cardinals Football Boosters...Ready to Go in 08

Believe it or not...the 2008 SJFC Football campaign is under way. Your SJFC Football Boosters are ready as well! Get those COW BELLS warmed up!

This year we were able to meet with Coach Vosburgh in early July to set-up our tailgates and locations for the year. These tailgates will be held for both home and away games for both the JV and Varsity teams.

This year, thanks to the efforts of Coach Vosburgh and his staff, we were able send out Parent/Player Information letters and forms to better help us collect information prior to the Sign-in Day on August 16th. We are asking that parents donate a minimum of $25.00 per family to the SJFC Football Booster Club so that we will have a fiscally sound package to start the year with. If you haven't sent in your donation and would like to, please send it to: SJFC Football Booster Club, 10 Bermuda Road, Whitesboro, NY 13492. Checks can be made out to the SJFC Football Booster Club as well.

We will have Cardinal Football Booster items to sell as a fund raiser on the 16th. We purchased beads, window decals and Mom and Dad football t-shirts in a pre-order format. These can be purchased on the 16th. All proceeds will go back into the Booster account.

If you haven't sent in your form, please do so as soon as possible. This year the Football Scrimmage will be held on FRIDAY, AUGUST 29 at 7:00pm and EAST ROCHESTER HIGH SCHOOL. We will be tailgating after the game for the players and coaches from BOTH teams. That means we will be feeding close to 300 people so we WILL NEED YOU HELP.

We are also looking for parents who are local to SJFC that can help us on game days with set-up of the tailgates. That can be noted on your form as well or by contacting us on the 16th or via email at sjfc65@aol.com.

Throughout the year we will be communicating all information on this blog and via email. So having your email(s) is crucial to the success of this season.
